I am really tired and contented after three days of continuous playing. GB camp totally rawks. At first, I was like kind of dreading it but now I wished that it would never end. I took a taxi to the Salvation Army (Praise Haven) with my mother and that was the start of my adventure... We were aranged into our groups and we did self intro. I did that for like six times cause there were late comers. We were all shy as we were not familiar with the people. This is the call for ice breaker games. This is where I got to know my group members better. They were: Marjorie, Wai Ian, Ren Ci, Nat Kwan, Grace Ang, Esther Ng, Micole, Sarah, Hui Qing, Ruo Ting, Kai Yuilt. We played some really lame games like Chop Chilli Chop which was totally nonsensical and the "Di Di" game which was really hilarious. Others were quiet and serious like murderer and contact.
Next, we had lunch. Fancy having lunch at 11 am. Everyone was not really hungry so we ate really slowly. I managed to finsih mine :D We had chicken rice... We then discussed out group item that we had to put up on the 2nd day. This are the things we had to included into our skit. Theme: Back to the Basics Key words: pillows, pink, flowers, roots, boomerang Timing: 5-7 mins We put our heads together and came out with this really "brilliant" skit. Yay! So I shall give you a rough outline... Main Characters: King Koil King Kong George Bush Gardener Barney the Pink Dino The Gay Guy Narrator Auntie Rude Boy Mr and Mrs Basics Our Storyline: Mr and Mrs Basics had 4 children. George Bush, King Koil, The Gay Guy and The Rude Boy. So the children went forth to seek their future. George Bush (GB) had an important call. The call of nature. However, he was a flowerless bush so the gardener tried very hard to make it bloom flowers by piling SH** onto it. So being filled with SH**, it ran back home crying. Next, King Koil was the King of pillows. However, he was invaded by King Kong and her kingdom was destroyed by a Kong Ball. (lame) So he too ran back. The gay guy had a favourite singer, pink, and a best friend, Barney. But, Barney abondoned him went King Kong striked again. So he ran for his life home. Lastly, the Auntie had enough of the rude oy and scolded him. So the rude boy decided to return to 'comprain' to his 'fatha' So they returned to the basics. :) Laugh... come on, you can laugh louder :D We went back to our dorms and it was really cosy. We had bunks and I decided to sleep on the bottom bunk. I was too lazy to climb. :( Badgework was really exicting. We learnt how to do sign language. I can now sign the whole ABC song and the song Jesus Loves Me. :) We were going to have outdoor dinner that day and so this is the start of the one and only GB sandwich making competition. We went the nearby cold storage near the Salvation Army and purchase whatever we needed with the given budget of $20. We decided to keep the sandwich healthy so we did not add any dairy products. We managed to cook some pasta cause we know that the sandwich was not enough. What a feat right? The hike up the quarry was the place where I went for my Primary 5 camp at Dairy farm. The 'hike' was really short. We came to a plain and settled down there. From there, we had station games like Taboo, broken telephone and letter writing using our bodies... Then, Miss Wong had a 'great' idea. "You see this area, usually when MEDIACORP comes to this type of area, they would be filming chinese martial arts show. So we shall try and 'film' one" Miss Wong said. So we were divided into two teams and we 'fought' for about fifteen minutes and we won :D (the good side) We had praise and worship outdoors. Next came the best part - eating :) However, we had to say grace first. It went like this... "Dear heavenly Father, we thank you for this time that we could gather together as a company. Please bless this food unto our body and hope we do not get food poisoning..," We ate up everything and miraculously, the pasta we cooked was still warm. It was really delicious. Or maybe it was because I was hungry or rather FAMISHED!! The hike back was at 8pm. Everyone was hot and sweaty wishing for a bath. Supper was Khong Guan Biscuits and warm milo. *licking lips* The biscuits tasted exceptionally nice with the milo. :P Then was night time. We had QT (quiet time) . Then we slept at around 11pm. The beds were creaky so everytime you turn you hear CRRREEEAAKKK... at night and it is quite creepy. Anyway, I slept well. ZZZZzzzz... |
