Pirates of The Carribean - At World's End/ 10:47 PM
Thursday, May 31, 2007

This Monday, 28/5/07, was a funny day for me and Karen :) Our D'n'T was supposed to be on the next week, but we thought it was this Monday. So both of us went to school only to laugh at ourselves. Instead, we decided to go to Lido to watch Pirates of The Carribean - At World's End. The ridiculous part was that we did not really know how to get there. So, with a little help from the people around there, we got there SAFELY. Thank God.We bought the tickets and the popcorn +drink. No movie is complete without them :D

Come to think of it, I have watched 2 PG shows without being stopped. Spiderman 3 and Pirates of the Carribean. The show was abit confusing I admit. And it really have more crabs than all the crabs at in the east coast restaurants put together, but Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) really lives up to his name. He kept us all at the edge of our seats with his jokes and interesting character. But he NEVER FAILS TO ESCAPE. :D The ending was kind of sad actually :( Will Turner died but then became the captain of the Flying Dutchman. Watch to find out how and why. O yes, and don't forget to stay till the end of the credits. I kind of like the song 'Hoist The Colours'. There is actually another show coming up.

Ya, and they took the Black Pearl and left without Jack Sparrow again... leaving him with a small boat....... and his 'spoilt' compass :)

Well, we went home after that and I had to do Math the entire day. My mom is teaching me the algebra topic. :(

After a year, this memorial is still here :D
Karen wanted to show this to her brother
From left: me, Beckie, Ulander and Karen

Look at my ice ball melting (:
Have you ever seen a flopping icepop
I am a superstar. (This is a P3 gril btw)
hey hey, no cheating
Mr Low offering to get dunked into the tank of water :P

Last Saturday, was a very fun-filled day. At 8pm, I got up to get to go for RGS Open House. Actually, I went there to just show my support. I was supposed to go for some duty at the infocomm booth but then they say don't need liao. So I just go there, look around, meet Karen and then leave for Kong Hwa School. They were having their Family Day on the same. Thought we should drop by.

We were greeted by laughter and blaring music. The place was a buzz with acivity. YAY!! There, we met Guan Koi and Beckie and some netballers. Yup, walked around and we all each bought an ice ball after meeting Yulong, Chengsin and Benedict. It was DELICIOUS!! We walked to the store that Mr Low was incharged of - The Sinking Tank. Mdm Penny Chong actually volunteered to get dunked and so did Mr Low later at $5 per 2 tries. That's like daylight robbery, but I think it is ok. Morever, you are dunking a TEACHER. :D I think Mr Ong (principal) volunteered too. Woah! This one surely $10 one --"

After loitering around, just talking and checking things out, we sat down to watch the 光华 Superstar contest. Although all their singing are not that impressive, their courage in standing on stage to sing is highly commendable (: I also noticed that 蔡淳佳 - 陪你看日出 very the popular... (sorry if I got the name wrong)

One girl even dedicated the song to her mum - 月亮代表我的心. How touching :D Anyway, I bought muah chee after Karen left and went home. HAPPY :D

Today, I discovered that my thumbdrive was missing from my pouch. If anyone sees it please inform me. It is really important with all my works inside. It is grey and white. It can store up to 256mb of files.

Sigh... I am quite depressed. Hope that I will be able to find it :)

Hectic... xD/ 7:30 PM

Last Thursday, 24 May 2007, was a really hectic day. We had our Poetry lunch for Literature. Guess what we ate? Aiya... Mcdonalds lor. Our school had already ordered about S$300 worth of delivery from them that entire day. 104 also had Mcdonald for breakfast. We were supposed to come out with a poem for the mysterious person we picked to be read out that day. Mine was Gao Ang. I really had quite a hard time writing one for her. It took me about 3 days.

When Lunch arrived, 8 people went to collect the food while the rest of us pushed the tables to one side. Distributing the food was quite a huge problem for the french fires. All the fries had practically dropped out. So the large became medium and the medium, small. :( Plus they gave us a overwhelming number of chilli packets. Miss Santhi actually bought Shrek Ears to wear. She even walked along the corridors with it. She looked funny. Too bad I did not get a picture of her.

I was the first person to read out the poem. (cause I was sitting beside her) This went on and on. I think Karen and I really 有源. She acutally got my number!! She wrote a really nice poem. I hope to keep it for the future.

After that, we had Geography. Miss Wong was supposed to revise the RIVER topic with us. We have an assessment in Term 3 Week 2 after the June Holidays. During the last part of the lesson, Miss Wong explained about the 3 Gorges in China. How they were going to build a dam there and so on. To explain this, Miss Wong asked me and Grace to act as one of the Gorges. "So when they build the DAM WALL..." Miss Wong was explaining. We all burst out in laughter. And I also got a new label - Miss Wong's Wall.

After school, this is the part I dreaded most. I was norminated as an SL (Student Leader) for Term 3. If you all had read Karen's blog, you would have known this earlier. Yup, so we had to go for an interview. I heard it was quite scary...

They changed the venu suddenly so everything started late. Mine was supposed to be around 3.20pm but was re-scheduled to 3.35pm. Karen was one of the first few to go into the interview room. (Which was a classroom actually) The teacher interviewing her was Miss Tay!! Our history teacher. You know, some times its not that good the have someone who teachers you to be the interviewer. Karen came out almost in tears. Saying that they actually made her contradict herself.

My confidence was lowered abit. Although I have been through numerous interviews with Karen, I have never seen her *sniff*. I have been through some award interview, RGS school interview etc. I was about to taste the 'power' of the prefects in RGS.

Well, I cannot reveal the questionst they asked, but the quetions are phrased in a way that wants you to contradict yourself, giving you many situations. I got Miss Pica and two other prefects. Miss Pica asked some questions but majority were by the prefects. They fired one after another. Sometimes, I did not even know how to answer.

Thank God it is over. It is a GIGANTIC LOAD of my mind. Karen and I thought that there was IHG NETBALL that day, But I guess we were wrong. I forgot to get an excuse letter for my infocomm CCA. :( Never mind. We stayed back anyway with Murnira and Nazihah, talking nonsense and crap. :D Then we went home of course...

Dragonboating(:/ 4:01 PM
Saturday, May 19, 2007

My sister recently went to the fish farm to catch fish. The dealer there also gave them 2 gold fishes each. I really pity the fishes. They must be really fit... fitter than the fittest runner after all the swimming they do everyday :( Anyway, I am currently trying to see how the fihes sleep but am unable to do so :((

Today is a HOT Saturday. A 'great' day for going dragon boating. We assembled at the foyer of RGS and boarded the bus towards Singapore Water Sports Assosiation (near the national stadium) I was wearing my orientation T-Shirt and RGS shorts plus my old school shoes.

We got life jackets that were faded and old due to the constant usage. (not that we mind anyway) and a wooden rower.

We got down into the wobbly boat that got our heart pounding every time it tilted to one side. To make it scarier, our trainer actually made the boat rock. Aghhhh!!!

We were taught how to row the dragon boat PROPERLY. Thank God there were to capsize drills. In fact not ones did it flip over, despite the rocking :D The water was DIRTY. Yuck!! I wouldn't want to jump in there. --" However, we did remove our shoes. Later I tell you why. First things first. After practising the rowing, we were out in the open 'canal' At there end, they were building a dam. They were going to convert this place to a place with freshwater. It would be our water sports hub in time to come :D Different commands such as 'up', 'go', 'hold water' and 'back water' were given.

The trainer told us to sit on the dragon's boats edge. EVERYONE! and rock the boat. It went up and down, like a viking ride that you ride in theme parks, only scarier. Take out the height, add in no security measures and the deep green water below you. When it tilt, the entire boat like dipped into the water. So more and more water filled the boat, at the same time wetting our poor bums and shorts.

The fun part, which got us really wet, was the water fight between 4 boats. I was drenched from head to toe and soaked, with my hair with salt. :( But it wa fun to attack people. After rowing further out, we REMOVED our shoes and dipped them into the cooling water and rocked back and forth. IT WAS FUN. But I hope that we did not kill any fish. :( My shoes were rolling around the boat soaked in water as we rocked.

Dragonboat racing is all about teamwork and the syncronised strokes of the teamates make the boat glide. We had a race at the end. The forfeit was that the trainer of the last boat has to JUMP into the water. The trainers were going like 'don't need to be th first but don't be the last too.' Lol. Luckily we WEREN'T. I think we fared quie well, so our trainer did not need to jump. :D

That was the last and final part of our course. :( So sad. *cry* We took a group photo and left the area. I really could do with a bath. The sea water had a weird smell and my hair had salt. My old school shoes were also TOTALLY GONE!! Threw them away. Go and try dragon boating. I bet its fun!

RBD - re enate/ 8:51 PM

Things just could not get any lower. On Wednesday, we went for the auditions for the RBD competition. The judges were - Mr Johannis, Miss Santhi, Miss Sharon Ong and I can't remember the other one. On Thursday, during the usual morning announcements, they announced that 105, 113, 108 and 110 got into the finals. YAY!! We sure are happy. We had to make preparations for the finals. Miss Santhi helped and gave valuable advice.

The rehersals were filled with laughter, people forgetting their lines and other comical scenes. You name it, we have it. This is why we were conferred the title of - The Most Humorous Class :D Finally, Friday came. It was THE DAY! o_O" Boy, we were nervous. However, we still had normal lessons.

We changed into our different 'costumes' during recess. The entire school turned into a 'mirage of colours' rather that the usual sea of blue, white and black. But... the bad thing is that our Physics PT was DUE THAT DAY --"Luckily, we had the 1 hour to consolidate everything into our group project and write down our group conclusion. :)

Mrs Pey is already on maternity leave and Miss Yo is taking over her duty until the end of term 2. That reminds me, Ms Siu is coming back next term too, although we are no longer taking Physics. She is still our form teacher. :) Miss Yo had to cramp our entire lesson with notes, worksheets and facts as we were REALLY REALLY behind time. Plus, our maths PT on statistics was going to be given soon. :(

We came early for assembly to organise things and do last minute touch-ups. I shall now introduce you to our mysterious cast. Which I have not told you for so LONG.

Director: Karen Gwee
Script writers: Jody, Charmaine Yap and others
Narrators: Gloria and Farah
Young Jane Eyre: Charmaine Loh
Jaren Eyre: Victoria Woo
Mr Rochester: Yin Yi
Miss Ingram: Wen Qi
The giggly ladies: Poonam, Nazihah, Geraldine, Jody, Wen Qi, Murnira + ME
The pastor: Li Wen
St John: Catherine Shin
The mysterious protester: Averill
Mad Woman: Wei Zhen
Props people: Jia Le and her team
Sound cast: Everyone else
Music: Jody and I
Artists: Jody, Grace and Me

I hope I got it right:) We made people laugh like crazy, with our antics. But I think everyone did well. Way much better then when orientation. The other classes did well too. I must say that 108 took it really seriously. They acted well too. But out main focus is do your best and have fun. Not winning. Winning is actually a bonus. To think that we got so far is already an extraordinary thing to us. Trisha (our Prefect-In-Training) acted too. Although we were very far away, the moment we heard her scream, we knew it was her. That's her trademark. I enjoyed it alot. Especially when everyone does their best. (: Lets do it again again again!!

After MYAs/ 5:49 PM
Thursday, May 17, 2007

Yesterday I was really really high.. you noe, the MYA results were released. Thank God I did not fail anything at all. What a great feat :D But I DETEST sitting down on the EXTREMELY DIRTY carpet of the K.S Chee Theatre for about 3 hours :(

The first paper given out was Maths. Blame it all on my really stupid carelessness. I took 35000 as 3500 see the GREAT difference. At least I got like 3 marks for wroking marks. I got 6000 as 60000. LOL and when they wanted me to round off my answer to 2 significant figures, I rounded it to 3 --" I shall not tell you anymore. Later you laugh at me :( But overall, I got 31/40 for Maths. Yay!! Congratulations to Carey who got FULL MARKS for the ENTIRE PAPER :D

Next was Physics in the gym. I thought I was SERIOUSLY going to fail, cause I did not complete the irritating graph. However, I did surprisingly above my expectations. :) Plus, I got the EASIEST question wrong. o_O" Overall, I got like 31/50 for Physics. Congratulations to a girl who got like 48/50 for Physics. (Whoever you are)

Then, we got our English compo and Literature paper. There was a rumour that ALOT of ppl failed their Literature. We were all praying hard -- The teachers gave out the English compo scripts and went thourgh our mistakes. I got like 22/30 for some screwed compo I wrote *gasp*. The funny part. Someone wrote this: When I saw her, my eyes became WATERFALLS, How do you do that!? I wonder. That is not even crying. Someone wrote this: The doctor said gravely" We have done our best. Your Father has become a vegetarian." Imagine a cabbage lying on the bed of an ICU unit --. I was flabbergasted. My Father had become a vegetarian, stationery."

The Sally Phenomenom occured. I wonder how many Sally's wanna-be in RGS. The Warren Pryor, Caged Bird in Springtime and The Follower Phenomenom. "My mother wanted me to be a bank excutive(warren Pryor) like my Father (The Follower). So I though hard and serious (Warren Pryor) like a bird cage in springtime." It is already funny enough but how can 'bird cage' in springtime. That means it is the cage and not the bird leh --"

Literature was next. Sigh... I couldn't bear to look at my paper. But I found out that I had scored 17/25. I was OVERJOYED!! The teachers had to remind us not to display any 'exaggerated display of emotions' :D The poem was about 'Old Woman'. (You won't want to know the content)

Then, they gave out the Geography. I was not worried AT ALL. I was quite confident that I would do well. True enough, I scored like 20.5/22. Whoo... Same as Karen. Yay!! Congrats to Sandra Olivia Lee for getting 21/22. :D

The Chinese paper... Ai yah... I already know my results so no worries. I got 37/50. Not bad, considering the fact that I am not that strong in Chinese. During the Chinese mark checking, the mike went off and on causing numerous comical scenes. Like the teacher singing to test the mike. :) Congrats to Jing Wen who scored about 46/ 50 for Chinese.

Overall, I think I did quite well and must keep up the good work. 加油 to everyone. Karem and I went celebrating at KFC by sharing cheese fries, a zinger and a mountain dew drink. I amd over the moon. When I reached home, I could not stop laughing to myself. Too bad, I still had Physics PT to worry about. :(

Last Friday, 11 May, TGD. (traditional games day) It was a day after the celebration and the MYAs :D The day before, they made an announcement over the PA system saying 'There is school tmr. Please come in your pinnafold and bring your PE attire.' The next day, when everyone returned to school, there was a variety in attire. Some wore their pinnafold with their PE attire inside while others wore the pinnafold and the blouse and literaly brought their PE attire. What a weird combination.

Well, we proceeded to the gym as stated in the schedule. Only to find out that we had to be in the camteen. There, we played pick up sticks and kuti kuti. Pick up sticks is a game whereby you are supposed to pick up the sticks one by one without moving any other. If you do, then you will lose a turn. Karen, Adalie and I played 2 rounds of pick up sticks. I won the first round and Adalie the other. Sandra's rich imagination got her thinking that the sticks looked like some joss stick. The plastic kuti kuti counters were really cute. But to be honest, I prefer the rubber version of the game. Thats what I played in primary 2 and 3. :)

Next station was at the Mini Amphitheatre. There we played hop scotch. I used to play that every single morning with my friends when I was young and I still did when I was primary3 at Charla's house. We actually used chalk to draw on the floor of the corridor of the condo we stayed in. How naughty. But we cleaned it up. The area was a bit congested and there was not enough hop sctoches for everyone.

The next station was fun... exciting. Didn't noe that traditional games could have been so fun to play. The game is called zero point. FUN!! It s this long string of rubber bands which are held by two people. And you have to jump over the rope as it goes higher and higher. A really high energy needing game. Miss Tan was really good at it. 0_O"

The last station was chapteh... wonder if this is how you spell it. Anyway, Adalie, Karen and I successfully passed the chapteh one round. Whoo!!

Oya, forgot, We played 5 stones too. And then we tried ridiculous stuff with the 5 stones. You should have seen it.

I really didn't think that we would actually sweat so much... lol
