I am like a zombie now... really. Barely got enough sleep + my arms and legs are aching :( On the first day, I woke up at 6 something. (Too tired to realise the actual time). Then I changed into my GB uniform. At the foyer, I lugged my gigantically enormous 'luggage' to the hall. We fall in and did the normal things like standing there waiting for our attendance to be taken. Anyway, my group is Charmander (pokemon). My group consisted of Sec 4: Gladys Koh, Sec3: Peiling, and another girl who was sick, Sec2: Si Kiat (if the spelling is wrong, forgive me :(, Sec 1: Evelyn, Grace, Hannah and yours truly.
I think we stood there for like a long long time... they had to check our uniform too. The Sec 3s were incharge of the camp and PeiLing and Elissa were the camp I/Cs. LOL >< align="center">I love Charmander, you love Charmander
We are one big family
with a breath of fire
and a orange dinosaur
won't you say you love Charmander too
(sang to the tune of Barney's I love you song)
We were given our first clue and the rules were as follows:
1. No buses are to be taken unless to come back to school
2. Only MRTs are allowed to be taken
3. No jaywalking
4. Stay as a group
Our first clue had a van and the word "K.O" and "see". I think you are pretty smart, so you should know this one. It is Kovan. I guess rules are meant to be broken. There are 2 ways to get to Orchard MRT, but both requires jaywalking. So in the end, everyone jaywalked. There, we were supposed to play charades. That one wasn't too bad, really. :) We were given this clue that went something liddat. We couldn't make head or tail of it.
1. The bersek man went singing "LALALALALA! Run Along"
2. (I forgot this one) But I know all the first letters of the sentence made up the word 'library'.
After Gladys called someone for help, we were finally on our way again. I wonder how that makes up Seng Kang library. If I am not wrong, we ended up someone at Compass Point. (: There, we had to find this book in the library: History in Arts - Tudour England by someone with the surname Barber. I think were kind of foolish. In other words, lame. We were looking all over the adult section when the book was acutally in the children section. We all had a good laugh. That goes to show that we should not have any prejudice that only adults read about this kind of thing. (:
Our next clue was Clarke Quay. This one was easy to figure out at least, but don't be too happy yet. We had to climb 90 steps to reach the area, only to find out there was an escalator somewhere. We also couldn't find our station masters after looking all over the place. In the end, we found them at some cafe - sleeping --" At this station, we were supposed to do drill around the Read bridge. There were jumbled letters pasted on the lamposts and we were supposed to do drill in such a way that we could see the letters. These letters make up uor next station. Our guess was Chinatown - the speakers corner. They gave us a piece of paper with speakers printed at the sides.
Hmmm... Chinatown. I think that was one of the dirtiest stations. :( We were supposed to do some catepiller crawl on the grass, plus a very very long distance too. It was dirty work, heaving 7 bums acorss the grass. You could even see our butt marks on the grass. Some teenagers passing by were staring at us, thinking we were crazy ppl. Then we sang the potato song. It went something like this:
Po-ta-to-po-ta-to-po
ta-to-po-ta-to-po-ta
to-po-ta-to-po-ta-to
po-ta-to-po-ta-to-po
ta-to-po-ta-to-po-ta
to-po-ta-to-po-ta-to
Try singing this in the tune of twinkle twinkle little star. Seems easy huh?
Our next clue was some maths question. See if you can solve it :D
Let NE = x
Solve the following equation for NE:
x(square) - 20x + 100 = 0
Domain: {green grass, sunlight, fresh air}
The Answer: NE = 10 I think
This leads us to Potong Pasir. YAY!! Cause the code for this MRT station is NE10. We were lost there. So we just choose any exit and proof, we appeared at the right plae, amazingly. Praise God (: There we were supposed to do some Tabloo thing. Like they give you some setence, then you are to use still actions to show that sentence. We got 2 verses. Imagining doing all these in front of the MRT station. Embarassing, but there are more embarassing things to come. :(
Our next clue was a poem. And we were to find this picture of four humans doing some gymnastic actions in that MRT station.
A fairer place, you could not find
Than that which we now bring to mind
A place with trees, a playground too,
A wooden bench, a sky so blue.
Find this painting, don't be late
Hurr now, two people wait.
Obviously the answer is Farrer Park. The description of Farrer Park is kind of redundant. I mean which place on Earth don'es have a blue sky over it?! This one also quite embarrassing. We are supposed to imitate those people. Yep, it is in an underpass, and there are lotsof people. So you know how it goes.
The last place we got to before the time was up was VIVOCITY. My first time, and the most embarrassing I guess. :O The clue was like this
---- -- Mei Lan,
RGS Maths Teacher
(insert a red flower here)
(in small print) Go to Vivocity)
I wonder what has Miss Ha Mei Lan got to do with this clue. Lol! Anyway, at Vivocity, we went to this place called Misha which apparently has the logo of that red flower. (don't mind the spelling) There we were to make a short skit using clothes peg, scissors and a lightbulb and must include the theme of self-control. So Gladys came up with this idea, volunteering everyone, to do this skit that she brilliantly came up with in approximately 15 seconds. The storyline: There was this poccupine. (insert: The clothes peg are the spikes). He like to poke people with his spikes, although he know he should not do it. So he decided t practice self-control. But one day, it decided not too. He went to poke this couple. And the cut off (insert: scissors) all its spikes. The End. The thing that made it so funny was that Gladys, in order to meet the time limit, kept emphasising on self-control in long funny ways. LOL!!
We climbed (actually got escalator) to the top floor where there was this wadding pool. There we were to make this ballet dance in the wadding pool. Imagine the tons of people looking at us. So in a spilt second, Gladys again, decided that we shall all do the Swan Lake. But our version is super funny. She is the swan, volunteered Grace as the prince and the rest of us flowers. Then we just pranced around madly for the entire time. ROFL!!
We made it back to school, but late, very late. We were supposed to be back at 6pm but we came back at 6.30pm. We had a bath and went for outdoor cooking. We put toothpaste on this metal thing full of water when we were supposed to have done it before filling it up. Then we cooked instant noodles without the seasoning, so it tasted kind of plain. Anyway, the clearing up is always the most boring. We were made to scrub the metal things with burnt toothpaste, and they still weren't happy with how clean the metal things were. :(
Had worship and QT. That was enjoyabe. Our camp theme song is a really nice song titled: Form the Inside Out, by Hillsongs. The lyrics are here for fun :P
thousand times I've failed
Still Your mercy remains
And should I stumble again
I'm caught in Your grace
Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame
Your will above all else
My purpose remains
The art of losing myself
In bringing You praise
Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame
In my heart and my soul
Lord I give You control
Consume me from the inside out
Lord let justice and praise
Become my embrace
To love you from the inside out
Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart
Is to bring You praise
From the inside out
Lord my soul cries out
At 11pm after the debrief, the lights went out. This was just the first day...
