3rd check paper/ 6:18 PM
Friday, October 19, 2007

Sigh... so tired. Just got back another bulk of results. Overall, I did not fail anything. Praise the LORD! Friday, some of the important papers as well.

The first paper was Mathematics in the Hall at 7.30am. Something I had totally nothing to worry about as I knew I would pass. Accpet that there were 2 questions that I had barely enough time to do, but I did it alright. It turned out that I got one of the simplest questions wrong. --" The question was on exterior and interior angles of n-gons. That was something that I was not bad in. Another mark that was deducted was from some presentation error. Actually, in my opinion, it was no presentation error. I mean there was not enough space to write, so I wrote on the next line. Like that also can minus marks. Y'all teachers really find every single chance to deduct marks.

I was reliefed that my graph portion had a perfect score - 7 marks. I had spent an entire night practising on draw the graph. Must thank my mother as well, she helped me in this portion when I told her that I did not understand what ever the teachers were talking about: cause we changed teacher numerous times. The other question that I did not have time to do, I got part a) and b) correct. Only part c) had a mistake, so I was saved. It was some calculation error again. --" I must be the queen of carelessness. Overall - 40/45. Congrats to Carey who got another perfect maths score - maths genius. She should be in the Maths advance class.

Recess was like any other. One of the more relaxed time. But today's was kind of tense due to the checking of the next 2 major papers before being released - English and Mother Tongue language. I was the same. It was crucial that we did not fail any of these papers, plus, the RGS teachers were known to be extremely strict when it comes to language.

Higher Chinese papper was checked in the Hall. Composition was first. I had totally no confidence in this one. It was not entirely my strongest subject. I was just hoping to scrape through. Things were not as bad as I thought. I shall try and do this in chinese. Ahem!

Next was English. *gasp*. The atmosphere was tense, others were huddling together, praying that they would not fail. This was the most important paper. If you fail in overal results, you may have to stay back for one year. I certainly do not hope for this to happen to me either. This was done in the KS Chee Theatre. Composition was a gigantic relief, as I knew I had kind of written out of point. I was just hoping to be able to pass. And thank God, I did. I got 19/30. Not bad for a out-of-point story. As usual, there is the usual bloopers made portion of the composition for everyone to enjoy and laugh at. The names are kept confidential. I think you would enjoy some of them as well. :D

1. Equally messy as the hair of a mad scientist.
2. My anger heated up. I could almost smell burning smell emitted --"
3. It pierces my heart to see them. Then, I spotted a banana. --" (err....)
4. The sky blotted with different shades of grey as little droplets of tears from above flew with the dancing wind. (too much description. In short, its raining)
5. Her coat flashed like flowers in springtime
6. she crumpled on the floor, tears refilling? and whispered, "I love you too."
7. Tears slowly crept up into my eyelids (whatever happened to gravitiy?)
8. She pursed her lips and seem to be (she would have died!)
9. She was wearing a spagetti strip. (what!? she was wearing just spagetti?)
10. Then, I spotted a large balding man, with large sweat circle in his underarms (you can actually see that!?), a little boy with assorted fruits crossing the road. (I never knew assorted fruits could cross the road)
11. The water was stagnant in my mother's eyes. (Err... are you trying to breed mosquitos in your mum's eyes?)
12. The dancing butterflies in my stomach became snakes that slither faster with each step. (What!? snakes? Going a bit to far with the description)
13. the teacher said to the girl "You foolish SLUT!" (OMG, a teacher said that?)
14. I should have listen to the sign. (Let me ask you.. how do you listen to signs?)
15. My fingers bounced off the grass. (You fingers must be really rubbery to do that)\
16. For a moment, danger crept through my eyes and into my heart and squeeze it. (Right..)
17. She realised she was all wet, and wiped her hands across her chest (sensored... )

Thats all for composition. Hope you had a good laugh. :D I did. And so did my parents. Now (drumroll) its for the main paper. I did okay. Really. I was glad I did. I got like 26 out of 40. Not bad. My actual mark was 24. But due to mistake in marking, thats where the extra 2 came from. I got 15/20 for my summary. Better than my practices. :D Well, thats all for now. TATA!
