After church, I returned home by MRT from Plaza Singapura. I set down to work: dismanteling all the lego parts from my robotics set so that it could be reused. My fingers were all red and were in need of a massage despite the help of the lego remover. (you know the grey colour thing that looks kindof like a frog)

Averill arrived on time (2pm) and I had to carry alot of things down to the function room which I had booked. Her Father and sister had sent her here from her Yoga class. We started to work out what we wanted and revise the ideas which we discussed the week before. We even drew some sketches while waiting for Victoria and Jia Le to arrive. Both of them arrived at around 3pm plus. Victoria came rom church and Jia Le from swimming I guess. Both of them had taken part in some 5km and 10km jog. (speaking of fitness) We painted the cardboard box that I brought home from school brown. Did the paper mache for the hands and legs. Jia Le made the face, and the mouth (including thickened lips) and we got to work figuring how the gears would work.

our theory and problem:
The first task must be either Golf or Scoccer.
Golf: Move a golf ball that is at rest behind Line A so it enters a round opening placed by the team behind Line B. The object may be of any shape and size but the opening cannot be more than 4''. To complete the task, the ball has to pass through or come to a rest in the opening.

OR
Scoccer: Move a the scoccer ball so that it crosses the taped Line B

Solution: We choose the second task. As the word 'move' is rather ambiguous, we decided to make our dribble the ball like a scoccer player. And hence, a curve leg so that it can just push the ball as it moves along with ease to Line B

The second task must be either Shuffleboard or Ping Pong.
Shuffleboard: Move an object resting on the floor behind Line C so that it travels through most of the floor surface and knocks a team created object that is behind Line A.

OR

Ping Pong: Move a ping pong ball so that it hits a wall placed by the team beyond Line A and the ball must bounce back and hit the vehicle to be successful. The wall:
1. must be supplied by the team
2. must be a stationary obeject
3. must not provide propulsion for the ball
4. and counts towards cost

The solution: We choose the Ping Pong ball task. And we wanted to do it in the catapult style. Whereby you have something flinging it up and it flies, hits the ball, and comes bouncing back. As long as it his the vehicle, it should be considered as done.

the third task must be either Tennis or Cast and Catch
Tennis: move a tennis ball so it travels through the air and lands and stops completely within a team-created container that is beyond Line B. The ball may not bounce in or out of the container and the team is not allowed to touch the container during the attempt.

OR

Cast and Catch: Cast a line so that one end travels beyond Line D, attaching itself to a team-made item which is them retrieved by reeling in the line. The item may be anything that the team wishes.

Our solution: We decided to use the cast and catch one, using the theory of a fishing rod. The reeling and tossing of the line can be done using gears and automation. And it would be catching a shoe. The line will be attached to something that is magnetic and there will be magnets placed inside the shoe. the only problem for all the above problems is how to make it accurrate since it is kind of like a trial and error thing.

the forth task must
1. be team-created
2. not be from any of the above task
3. must relate to a sport or activity

Our solution: was to have darts throwing. the darts (which are actually chapteh) will be pushed through a tube with a sudden force so that it flies out and hit something.

Theme of or vehicle: is a Red Indian... or I would rather call it a Native American.
this is only the simplified version of the tasks, so as you can see, this is a little ambitious to complete within a few weeks. you only have the teachers to thank for this. I bet they can't even complete it themselves. We still have to handle alot of things and the first few weeks were already taken up by the EOYs...

We created quite a mess at the function room and I only had the room till 6 plus. We were not even half-way through by 4pm. We cleaned up the area before the time was up and went to the roof top area to continue. There, we had a short break of chocolate cake, drinks and agar jelly. Quite refreshing after all the work we have been doing. We were kind of high after that (must have been the chocolate). Victoria started saying weird things. Averill and I were laughing uncontrollably and Jia Le was a bit tipsy. LOL. But we did our work all right. Everyone only left at 7pm plus. Anyway, my mum and dad and sister had gone out for a wedding dinner, so I was left alone with my brother. Averill, who took cab to school and home was given the task to bring it home and to school. It would be impossible for anyone else. Firstly, although Victoria was going home in her mum's car, all three of us take either school bus or public bus and train. There would be no way that vehicle thing would fit.
I was all dirty from sitting on the floor, so I took a bath. Then I watche anime till 11pm. I was finishing up Claymore. Then I went to bed... LALA LANd
