HI HI!! I am back from Karen's house after a wonderful sleepover. Although we were supposed to start the 'programme' at 10.30am, there was some miscommunication. Claudia and I set off together and took bus no. 30 from the bus stop opposite my house. However, upon reaching. we straight away headed for Karen's house. Little did we know that she was waiting for us at the MRT station - playing her PSP. --" We had to make another trip to the Station to 'fetch' her. LOL. The dog Chi Chi greeted us with barks and growls.
Both of us took out the dvds and vcds that each of us had brought. Our first Movie was the cute computer generated - Happy Feet. Comparing the older Mumble and the kawaii version when he was young, I think the later is cuter. The story was kind of sad...though. And I like the beat that the penguins made. The vocals were good. And as usual, there is this the romance *sparks* but overall the focus was on the destruction that human was doing by over fishing in habitats that other animals depend on as well on the same source of food. The is ample comedy in it to sustain the audience. Enjoyed it. Charla was supposed to arrive at 1pm, so we brought Chi Chi out for a walk to the MRT station. It was so excited that it was almost impossible to get it on the leash. I was actually kindof scared of the dog. No way do I need to be bitten by one. But it turns out it was not that scary after all. I acutally tried walking it. While waiting for Charla, it started to drizzle and rain. Unfortunately, Charla only has one umbrella. And Chi Chi is afraid of the thunder, so we ran in the rain and got drenched. Dried ourselves of course, and Chi Chi too.
Next was Ratatouille. Rats - most people hate them. But this show seem to make rats appealing, or rather kawaii. Now there are even Rat soft toys that kids love to cuddle. The show is about a rat called Renny who has a great sense of smell and talent in cooking. However, due to his appearence as a rat... he may be unable to do so. It is a heart-warming story about friendship and trust. Anyone can cook- this phrase is rather meaningful. Not anyone can be good at something. But the person good at that something can come from anywhere. Don't let prejudice blind you. Humans need to be more open-minded sometimes.
While watching, we drank coke (discovered by Karen's brother and everyone ran scrambling for it) and ate chips. The Lays- BBQ flavour. I better go home and burn off the chips I ate. We decided to hang around and look at Karen's room. (the one with the arrancar's poster). There we played 'Taiti'. A game that was taught by Din Yu Long, a former classmate, also knows as my 'son'. Its a game that brings back old memories of us all in P6 playing. We also played 99. And truth or dare. We made Karen shout and profess her love for Ukitake out of the window to her neighbours. LOL. And she did just that. Then we truth Claudia... but the content is SECRET!! obviously... did you think I was going to blurt it all out to you. I like listening to people's secrets but not telling on them. BAKA!!
Claudia had to leave at 5pm. Cause the next day she has her badminton training. And she is celebrating her birthday as well. So we decided to send her to the MRT Station. At the same time, we decided to walk the dog, again. It was happy to be out and about. When Claudia left, we walked it back. But then it did not want to go into the house. Karen thought it would be fun if we went the the park with it. Informing her mum, we walked it back towards the MRT Station, but towards the park. It was fun walking the dog... but I dunno if it will be in the long term. Honestly, I think keeping pets is actually killing them if you do not know how and is not committed. Most kids only take care of it and then get bored. They are not ready for this kind of stuff yet. So if I ever get a pet... I must make sure that I am really really really really ready to take care of it.
Before we reached the park, the soles of Karen's scandals came off so she had an awfully hard time walking to the park. LOL. At the park, we took it on runs around the park. We tried out some stuff. The see-saw for example. And there was this thing whereby you stand on it and it twirls around. Fast enough, so that after awhile, you feel dizzy and fainting. Charla tried that one too. Noway and I going to try that again. This is one of the only playgrounds with swings left (apart from the Tanjong Katong Park). It seems that less and less playgrounds have them any longer. The swings are my favourite part of the playground. Cause when I swing and the winds goes rushing by, my troubles seem to melt away. I use to do that pretty often while I was in primary school. However, there were girls hogging the swings... so we decided to come back later. We brought Chi Chi around some more. And then amused ourselves by seeing who would Chi Chi go to when called. Everyone: Charla, Karen and I were all fond of the dog. But I guess it went to Karen cause it was more familiar with her. Chi Chi is one of the dog that never sits no matter what - unless.. it wants to please you. It was naughty as well.
That day, we broke the law. AGHH! Don't call the police. We did not steal.. nope. We did not rob or vandalise. Its just that Chi Chi pooed in the middle of the pavement and we were unalbe to clean it up. So we left it there. Karen smacked Chi Chi 4 times... poor thing. But she deserves it. A dog must be disciplined as well. Whoever is the unlucky person to step on it. Sorry. Gomenasai. We finally had a go on the swing and we took turns taking care of Chi Chi. Karen started counting the number of swings in Japanese and we had a little competition. We would stick our hands at a distance and see who could kick it. Charla managed to kick mine. Eww... We also challenged each other see who can swing higher. By the time we made our way back, Chi Chi was tired, so we took a slow walk. We were sweaty too.
Charla had to leave, soon. So we watched Karen's 2 brothers do some random character selection and fight with the Xbox 360. It was fun though. Karen's elder brother - George, is really good. And Karen and her younger brother - Brendan, almost got trashed. This is truely the siblings bonding tool. :D. Charla left. I was the only one staying over. The rest of the time was spent in the computer room where the laptop and the destop were kept till dinner time. Brendan was watching Naruto... being one of the Naruto fans as well, I watch together with him. It was about getting that idiotic Sasuke back after he decided to follow Orochimaru. Stupid, baka guy. I thought he was kind of a cool guy. But in turns of character, Naruto is still better.
Dinner was onion eggs, soy sauce and chicken, long beans and green vegetables with rice. Mmmm... home cooked food. I miss the taste of it. Before that, George gave us a piece of his mind about the residents of the Earth must take their own food. A truly weird speech but dinner was delicious. O, and there was corn and soup as well. I ate my fill. I had a bath. If I didn't, I would be smelling worst than a rubbish bin overflowing with junk.
It was the 'kids time'. Brendan was back on the laptop and Karen on the desktop. The brother on the PSP. Me watching Naruto with Brendan as well - obviously. Karen's parents were back at around 8pm+. Her mum had brought donuts from the Donut Factory. Arghhh!!. Even Karen screamed - I love you MUMMY!! It was nice... my first time eating it.
