This is Sir Stamford Raffles as depicted by some show. Looks really fat as compared to the statue at the Esplanade. And they had soldiers 'supposedly' doing drills... including William Farquhar trying to make a desparate attempt at it. This video casted a really favourable picture of Sir Stamford Raffles but painted a really terrible picture of this Farquhar guy. We have been studying this controvery now, but everyone has a different viewpoint. It really depends on which sources you take as yoiur evidence to support your argument.
